Triple mental foramina of the mandible
Hr. Mihaylova, D. Yovchev
Mental foramen represents the ending of mandibular canal and is very important for the clinical practice of dentists and orthognatic surgeons. Variations of mandibular foramina according to the number and location of accessory mental foramina could be a reason for complications during anesthesia, dental implants and other surgical procedures in this area. We present an extremely rare case of a triple mental foramina in the left mandible diagnosed by CBCT examination. Information concerning additional mental foramina is very important for the clinical practice in order to prevent possible neurosensory disrurbances and haemorage during or after surgical intervention in this part of the mandible.
