Ischemic stroke in combined cerebrovascular abnormalities – aneurysm of the right internal carotid artery and arteriovenous malformation temporo occipital in the right hemisphere

A case of combined vascular abnormalities is presented– an aneurysm of the internal carotid artery and arteriovenous malformation temporooccipitally on the right, clinically presented by an ischemic brain stroke in the territory supplied by the right middle cerebral artery. Treatment included – hypotensive drugs, antiplatelet (antiaggregants) agents and vasodilators, which lead to significant improvement of the general and focal neurological symptoms. Neurosurgical intervention is been discussed, in order to remove the vascular malformation and to prevent future vascular events.
