Benign adrenal masses – CT imaging
- Belyanova, M. Krupev, V. Hadjidekov
The advances in radiology and the evolution of sectional imaging, in particular, allow for the detection of clinically inconspicuous adrenal lesions. Even in patients with known malignancy, most incidentalomas prove to be benign. Contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) is the gold standard in adrenal imaging. Some CT features – namely size, homogenеity, density and their behavior on postcontrast series can help differentiate between indolent and malignant masses. Acquaintance with these features is needed to make the diagnosis.
