A clinical case of posttraumatic carotid cavernous fistula, successfully treated by endovascular coiling is presented. According to the clinical presentation and the angiographic findings this fistula was classified as “class A” (Barrow’s classification). The clinical symptoms and the morphologic features of the carotid cavernous fistula were analyzed and decision was made that endovascular embolization should be performed. The options for surgical and endovascular treatment of carotid-cavernous fistulas are described and assessed in the discussion part.
