Interventional treatment of duodenal obstruction after biliopancreatic neoplasma’s stenting
G. Manova, M. Totev
Advanced biliopancreatic malignances can result in duodenal stenoses. At the onset of the biliary obstruction we applied percutaneous and endoscopic stenting as a first therapeutic step. At the stage of the manifest duodenal stenosis, when the patients were in a poor performance status and their palliative nonsurgical treatment was crucial, we performed endoscopic duodenal stenting under permanent fluoroscopic control. In both we used self expandable metal stents (SEMS). The intervention was safe and caring for the patients, and quickly restored the peroral intake.
